Lifestyle Management for Pile/Hemorrhoids:   Top |

dot Lose weight if you are over-weight.
dot Don't sit too much on a hard surface because it can restrict blood flow around the anal area.
dot Don't strain yourself to have a bowel movement. It is best to allow sufficient time rather than straining.
dot People with hemorrhoids should locate a toilet as soon as possible if they experience the urge to have a bowel movement.
dot Exercise may help relieve pressure around the anus and rectum and ease the symptoms of hemorrhoids.
dot Soaking the anus in warm water cleans the area and usually eases symptoms. This can be accomplished by squatting in a partially filled tub or using a sitz bath. A sitz bath involves a special container for warm water that can be placed on the toilet.
dot Patients may benefit from soaking the area several times a day. When swelling occurs in or around a hemorrhoid, cold compresses may help.
dot Take lot of pure water daily.
dot Eat balanced diet: take hot and clean food.
dot Do morning exercise after attending the toilet.
dot Any exercise that causes increased pressure or straining in the rectal area should be avoided.
dot Avoid situations that require you to stand or sit for long periods of time.
dot Never postpone your bowel movement if you have the urge to defecate.
